The Thai Film Festival in Malaysia (TFF) 2024, organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, is set to hold its 4th edition under the theme “Local Talents to Global Contents”. The festival aims to showcase selected Thai films to the Malaysian public and strengthen the ties between Thailand and Malaysia through filmmaking. The official launch of TFF 2024 will take place on 13 August 2024 at Aurum Theatre, The Exchange TRX, along with a Special Talk on “IGNITE THAILAND: A Premier Destination for High Profile Film Production”. Public screenings will follow from 16-18 August 2024 at selected Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) locations in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Selangor.

The TFF 2024 will unspool five remarkable Thai films from local independent productions and new generations of directors, namely The Undertaker (Comedy-horror), Not Friends (Coming-of-age comedy-drama), Daeng (Comedy-horror), Haunted Tales (Horror) and Mantra Warrior: The Legend of The Eight Moons (Animation), with 20 FREE public screenings at GSC Mid Valley, GSC 1 Utama, GSC My Town, and GSC IOI City Mall.

The festival seeks to deepen mutual understanding and appreciation between the two countries through the universal language of film. Additionally, a Special Talk will be held to facilitate collaborations among key players in the film industries of Thailand and Malaysia. The event will bring together diplomatic corps, government officials, film producers, media representatives, and celebrities from both countries.
An opening reception and special screening of the comedy-horror film “The Undertaker” will kick off the festival at Aurum Theatre, The Exchange TRX, on 13 August 2024. The festival will also include a Special Talk on “IGNITE THAILAND: A Premier Destination for High Profile Film Production” to provide insights into Thailand’s film strategies and foster collaborations between the public and private sectors of the two countries. Tickets for all screenings are complimentary and can be redeemed at GSC e-Payment, through the GSC mobile application, or at ticketing kiosks at participating locations.
